Basic First Aid - Blended
After registration, you will receive an email from the Canadian Red Cross to complete the online portion of the course. The only portion MUST be completed before attending the half-day in-person training.
This course is a must-have, as it meets the requirements for the Federal or Provincial Authority Having Jurisdiction over first aid training for the workplace. Additionally, the course content meets the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) standard Z1210 for Basic first aid training. Includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines.

How long is Basic First Aid good for?
3 years from your course date. The expiry date is printed on your certificate. There are no extensions and no grace period. Check your own dates →
How long does the Basic First Aid - Blended course take?
The theory is online at your own pace, then up to 1 day in person.
How is the course delivered?
It's blended: the theory is completed online at your own pace, followed by a short in-person session to practise and be assessed. Less time off work, same certification.
Can Basic First Aid be done online?
Partly. You complete the theory online at your own pace, then practise and are assessed in person.
What was Basic First Aid called before?
Before November 1, 2024, this level was called Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 1 in BC. An OFA Level 1 certificate still counts as Basic First Aid until it expires. How the old and new first aid names match up →
