Alpha Training Solutions (“Alpha”, “we”) handles personal information under Canada’s PIPEDA and the Personal Information Protection Acts of British Columbia and Alberta. This policy says what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what’s needed to train you and stand behind your credential — and nothing is sold, ever.
1. What we collect
- Booking & account details — names, email addresses, phone numbers, and company details for learners and the person booking. Legal names are required because they print on certificates.
- Training records — course progress, assessment results, attendance, and the certificates or records of training we issue (kept long-term so credentials stay verifiable).
- AI-course sessions — for AI-instructed courses, the session transcript and grading record are logged. They are the audit trail behind your credential and are reviewed for quality and for any dispute you raise.
- Assessment evidence — for practical assessments, photo ID is verified and short photos/video clips may be captured at assessment checkpoints as the record of your evaluation.
- Payment — card payments are processed by Stripe; we receive confirmation and a reference, never your card number.
2. Why we use it
To deliver and schedule training, issue and verify credentials, keep the records safety law and certifying bodies expect, invoice and receive payment, review training quality (including AI-session review by our staff), and respond when you contact us. We send transactional email about your bookings and credentials — not marketing blasts.
3. Who we share it with
- Service providers that run our platform — payment (Stripe), email delivery (Resend), hosting and databases (Vercel, Google Firebase, Supabase), and AI processing (Anthropic) for AI-instructed courses and our booking assistant. They process data on our instructions.
- Certifying bodies and course providers— for blended or provider-owned courses, we register you on the provider’s system (e.g. their online-course portal) and share what certification requires.
- Your employer — when your training is booked or paid for by your employer, they can see registration status, attendance, progress, and outcomes for that training. They do not see your learner profile or AI-session conversations.
- Verification — entering a certificate’s code at /verifyshows the credential’s holder name, course, and validity. That’s what makes your credential worth holding.
- When the law requires it — provincial health and safety regulators, or legal process.
Some providers process data outside Canada (for example in the United States); where they do, it is protected by contract with providers whose business is safeguarding it.
4. Retention
Certification and training records are kept as long as the credential (and the duty to verify it) lives — typically years, matching certifying-body and safety-law expectations. Booking and correspondence records are kept as long as needed for the purposes above, then deleted or anonymized.
5. Your choices and rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for corrections, or ask for deletion of information we don’t need to keep for legal or certification reasons. Learners in AI-instructed courses can dispute any content or grade from inside the course — every dispute is reviewed by a real person. To exercise any of these, contact usor call (250) 787-9315. If you’re not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the BC/Alberta commissioners.
6. Cookies
We use the cookies and local storage needed to run the site — sign-in sessions and your in-progress course state. No advertising trackers.
7. Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the date above changes with it. Privacy questions go to our contact page or (250) 787-9315 — Alpha Training Solutions, Fort St. John, BC.
