The Canadian Red Cross Babysitting course prepares youth to care for younger children with confidence, covering everything from managing difficult behaviour to leadership and professional conduct. Learners are trained and assessed on refreshed first aid content and critical-thinking activities for real babysitting scenarios. It is designed for youth ages 11 to 15.

What you’ll cover

  • Check, Call, Care (including calling EMS/911)
  • Recovery position and glove removal
  • Conscious choking and CPR for baby and child
  • Illness, asthma, and anaphylaxis (inhaler and EpiPen use)
  • Poisoning, insect stings, and wound care
  • Head, neck, and back injuries, broken bones, and seizures

Completion & certification

To receive your credentials you must attend and complete the entirety of the course and complete all the necessary components as required by the course provider.
