H₂S Alive
H₂S Alive is the industry-standard awareness course for anyone who could be exposed to hydrogen sulphide — a naturally occurring, colourless and highly toxic gas. You'll learn to recognize the hazard, protect yourself, respond in an emergency, and perform a basic rescue.
What you’ll learn
- Identify H₂S properties, health hazards, and likely locations
- Conduct a hazard assessment and apply controls
- Use SCBA and SABA properly
- Operate gas monitors and detector tube devices
- Apply the Seven-Step Initial Response Strategy and demonstrate rescue techniques

Prerequisites
Minimum age 16 · one piece of government-issued photo ID · modest clothing suitable for practical activities · physically fit for the course activities (students do not need to be clean-shaven).
Completion & certification
To receive your credentials you must attend and complete the entirety of the course and complete all the necessary components as required by the course provider.

The certificate is valid for 36 months from the course completion date, after which recertification is required.
