H₂S Alive
H₂S Alive is the industry-standard awareness course for anyone who could be exposed to hydrogen sulphide — a naturally occurring, colourless and highly toxic gas. You'll learn to recognize the hazard, protect yourself, respond in an emergency, and perform a basic rescue.
What you’ll learn
- Identify H₂S properties, health hazards, and likely locations
- Conduct a hazard assessment and apply controls
- Use SCBA and SABA properly
- Operate gas monitors and detector tube devices
- Apply the Seven-Step Initial Response Strategy and demonstrate rescue techniques
Who it’s for
- Any worker who could be exposed to hydrogen sulphide
- Oil, gas, and industrial crews working on or near sour-gas sites
- Contractors and visitors needing site access

- Respiratory protective equipment — SCBA & SABA (hands-on)
- Detection — electronic monitors & detector tube devices, bump testing

Prerequisites
Minimum age 16 · one piece of government-issued photo ID · modest clothing suitable for practical activities · physically fit for the course activities (students do not need to be clean-shaven).
Completion & certification
To receive your credentials you must attend and complete the entirety of the course and complete all the necessary components as required by the course provider.
