Confined Space Entry, Monitor & Rescue Awareness Level
Rescue training, done properly, is a full additional day on top of entry and monitor training — at a minimum. A thirty-minute hands-on practical with one pass through a confined-space simulator does not make someone a rescuer, and a certificate that says it does hands your site a capability it doesn't have.
What this course trains
Non-entry rescue.
- Recognising that an emergency is under way
- Controlling the scene so no one else goes in
- Summoning the rescue team
- Retrieving a worker from outside the space on an anchored retrieval line, with a body harness
- Briefing and supporting the rescue team when it arrives
What it does not train
Entry rescue.
- No one certified at this level enters a confined space to bring a worker out
- Entry rescue requires operations- or technician-level confined space rescue training
