Defensive Driver Assessment (Resource and Rural)

Length of Course: 4 hours
Valid: 3 years

  • Be at least 16 years of age
  • Government Issued Photo I.D.
  • Hold a Valid Driver's Licence
  • Wear modest clothing (no tank tops) for working in close contact with other students
  • Be medical and physically apt to perform practical course related activities 

This course has been developed to improve overall driving skills, introduce shuffle steering, ABS braking, heighten hazard awareness and reduce poor habits and behaviours. It is a highly engaging course designed to demonstrate that the majority of driving risks are no necessarily knowledge-based but is related to the driver's attitude, motivation and propensity to engage in high-risk behaviours.

As part of the course, you will:

  • Participate in a theory portion
  • Complete a 2 hour Practical Application On-Track Evaluation
  • Employer will receive a written report evaluation
